Alisha

The funding we provide to Centrepoint helps to make a huge difference in people’s lives, and we could not do that without your support and donations. As such, we are very honoured to be able to share the following email from Centrepoint and the attached letter from Alisha, which show the amazing work that is funded by your donations.

“I wanted to share with you to show the impact that your support has directly on our young people. Alisha came to us about 18 months ago and in the first 2 weeks and at her peak point of crisis, Alisha attempted to take her own life. She has been working with Amy who is directly funded by your donation and Clove one of our team for the last 18 months on her mental health and wellbeing (as well as all of the practical issues she faced) and she sent this to them in the post yesterday. As I’ve said before, we would not be able to offer the support to young people like Alisha without you, so please consider this letter from Alisha as much as a thank you to yourselves as it is to Clove and Amy.”

Centrepoint Impact Report

We are happy to provide an update from Centrepoint following our £85,000 donation. Ben Bowden, Regional Fundraising Manager for Centrepoint made the following statement:

“I cannot emphasise enough what an amazing impact this will have on the development of the Manchester service that we offer to young people. We are finalising plans for the redevelopment of Oldham Street currently, which will be a major project to transform the environment for young people – once we have everything finalised, we would very much like to name the new assessment room ‘the Keaton room’ in recognition of the impact and legacy that your gift will create.”

September Challenges

September marks a year since Keaton's death in Lake Como, Italy. This year, it is also the month in which he would have celebrated his 25th birthday.

To commemorate this occasion we are taking part in three fundraising events in September, with the aim of raising at least £5000 for the Keaton Emery Memorial Foundation.

We will be pushing ourselves to the limit in the Tough Mudder Challenge on Sunday 9th September, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Wednesday 12th September, and the Macclesfield Half Marathon on Sunday 23rd September.

Please go to https://mydonate.bt.com/events/keatonemeryfundraiser/464437 to sponsor us and help us to raise as much money as possible for our wonderful cause.

If you would like to get involved in any of the events (or cheer us on from the sidelines!), please email contact@keatonemeryfoundation.com for more information.

100% of your donations will go towards helping underprivileged young people access fundamental resources, such as further education and mental health care.

A Message from Centrepoint

Further to our £85,000 donation to Centrepoint, we can now provide an update from Ben Bowden, Centrepoint's Regional Fundraising Manager.

“I’m pleased to say that we’ve so far recruited one mental health advisor, one therapist, and one substance use worker to post, all of whom will be starting on the 16th July with us to begin operations. We have one mental health advisor yet to be appointed.

With your donation from and some additional monies from the Co-operative Bank, we are fully funded for the mental health offer for a minimum of one year where we will look to seek commission funding to re-fund.

Our next big challenge for development priorities is moving onto our employment and training offer, and our sports offer now to start making sure that we are providing the right opportunities for young people once we have got them healthy and stable thanks to the help that you have provided!”

Thank you so much for your continued support and donations. Your help is allowing us to make a real difference to people's lives.
